Rollover with Entrapment on US Highway 231
Emergency personnel from Arab Fire, Arab
Rescue, Arab Police and AirEVAC Lifeteam worked a mid-day accident on US Highway
231 near the intersection of Alabama Highway 69 that resulted in one patient
being air transported to Huntsville Hospital.
Crews worked for about a half hour to extricate the victim of the over turned
pick up truck. After treatment on scene, the patient was transported to the
trauma center at Huntsville by AirEVAC 15. While her injuries did not appear
life threatening, the patient met flight criteria due to mechanism of injury and
the prolonged extrication.
Traffic on US 231 was blocked for a short time, while a landing zone was set up
for AirEVAC.
Arab Police are investigating the accident. Employees from the City of Arab
Public Works Department also assisted at the scene.
