Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Crash

A grinding motorcycle and SUV crash around 5:30 pm Saturday afternoon seriously injured Christopher Lee Flemons of Pleasant Grove Road in Joppa. Flemons, age 24, suffered compound fractures in his left forearm and right lower leg. Flemons was traveling south on Friendship Road when a SUV driven by Benny Mack Campbell turned into his path according to Arab Police. Flemons was evidently thrown over the Campbell car, landing about 20 feet beyond the crash scene.

Flemons was flown to Huntsville Hospital by an Air Evac Life Team helicopter. Police say that Flemons suffered a compound fracture in his left forearm and Rt Lower Leg. He was going into surgery around 9 pm Saturday night.

Arab Police said that Campbell, age 75, of Maple Lane NE, was waiting to make a left turn from Friendship Road NE onto Longwood Drive NE when the wreck occurred. Campbell told police that he did not see the approaching motorcycle.
