December 25, 2010 The snowfall contributed to at least one serious wreck around 10:30 Christmas morning. A head-on collision between a Ford Mustang and a Dodge Neon at the intersection of AL Hwy 69 and Hulaco Road sent several people to area hospital with various injuries. At least four ambulances were called to the scene to handle the large number of patients. Rescue personnel spent 30-45 minutes extricating one patient from each of the cars. Two ambulances and personnel from Arab Fire & Rescue responded to the scene along one ambulance and personnel each from Marshall Medical Center North and from Cullman Regional Medical Center. At least one patient was transported to Cullman Regional while the remaining were transported to Marshall Medical Center North. Names of the victims were not immediately available. The accident is being investigated by the Arab Police Department. Emergency personnel from the Arab Rescue Squad and Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department assisted with extrication and treatment of patients. 12/25/2010 |
